Is this First Aid CPR AED course right for me? Yes. This course is essential for paid caregivers, direct support providers, teachers, childcare staff, massage therapists, CHHAs, camp counselors, lifeguards, and anyone who wants to be able to help in emergencies.
What if I only need CPR or only need First Aid? You can choose to attend just the CPR or First Aid portion of the class. The course cost remains the same. After enrolling, text us at 856-375-0866 with your class date and we will confirm your arrival time.
How long does the AHA First Aid CPR AED certification last? Your AHA Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED certification is valid for 2 years. It expires at the end of the month, 2 years from the date you completed the course. For example, if you certify in May 2026 your card is valid through May 31, 2028.
Will my employer or school accept this certification? If your employer, school, or licensing board requires a First Aid CPR AED course, this certification fulfills that requirement. It is an official American Heart Association Heartsaver certification and is widely accepted by employers, childcare agencies, schools, DDD/PPL programs, and government agencies. What is the difference between this class and BLS? The AHA BLS Provider course is designed for people working in clinical settings such as hospitals, dental offices, and nursing facilities. The AHA First Aid CPR AED course is designed for the general public and non-clinical settings. It does not require any healthcare background or medical knowledge and is perfect for caregivers, teachers, childcare staff, and anyone in a non-clinical role.
Is there a test at the end of the class? Yes — there is a simple multiple choice test at the end of the course. Throughout the class your instructor provides the answers so you are well prepared by the time you reach the test. Most students find it straightforward and stress-free.
Are there any physical requirements for this class? Everyone in the class must be able to perform the skills in order to receive their certification. The most physically demanding skill is performing chest compressions on a manikin — this involves pushing down with your arms and bending at the hips. If you have concerns about a specific physical limitation please call or text us at 856-375-0866 before registering and we will be happy to discuss your situation.
Do I have to get on my knees for CPR practice? No. All skills are practiced on tables for your comfort. You will not need to get on the floor at any point during the class.
When will I receive my First Aid CPR AED certification card? Your official AHA Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED digital certification card will be emailed to you on the same day as your class.
Do I need to purchase a book for the First Aid CPR AED class? No. We provide loaner books for class use at no charge. You may also purchase a First Aid CPR AED manual for $8 at class if you prefer your own copy.
Why choose in-person First Aid CPR AED training over an online course? Many employers including hospitals, schools, and government agencies do not accept online CPR courses. Our in-person AHA Heartsaver classes offer the hands-on training and quality certification you need to feel prepared and meet employer requirements.
