Nursing & Medical Students Starting Clinical Rotations:
Your program requires a current N95 fit test before you can enter a clinical setting. We see nursing students from Rowan College of South Jersey, Rowan University, and programs throughout South Jersey every week. Our $95 appointment takes about 10 minutes and includes everything you need — the OSHA medical evaluation and same-day documentation to submit to your school or clinical site.
Registered Nurses — RNs, LPNs, NPs:
Whether you are starting a new position, switching hospitals, or keeping your annual compliance current, we get you in and out fast. We stock the N95 brands used in local hospitals so you do not have to bring your own mask unless your facility requires a specific model.
Travel Nurses:
Starting a new assignment often means your new facility wants you fit tested on their specific N95 brand, even if you already have a current test. We can usually get you in the same week so you are not holding up your start date.
Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Allied Health:
If your clinical setting puts you in contact with patients on airborne precautions, you need a fit test. We serve all allied health disciplines — not just nurses.
Home Health Aides and CHHAs:
If you are working with patients who have active respiratory infections requiring an N95, your agency may require you to be fit tested. We offer fast individual appointments with same-day documentation.
Hospital and Clinic Staff:
Need to get your team’s annual fit testing done without pulling everyone offsite for half a day? We offer onsite group testing for healthcare facilities throughout NJ, PA, and DE. Contact us for group scheduling and rates.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to bring my own N95 mask?
No. We stock the most common N95 brands used in South Jersey hospitals. If your facility requires a specific make and model, call us at 856-375-0866 before your appointment and we will confirm whether we have it in stock.
Can I use my fit test from a previous employer at my new hospital?
It depends on the hospital and the mask. If your new facility uses the same N95 brand you were previously tested on, many hospitals will accept a current fit test. If the facility uses a different brand, you will need a new fit test on their specific model. Check with your new employer’s occupational health department to confirm their policy.
My hospital switched N95 brands — do I need a new fit test?
Yes. Your OSHA medical clearance stays valid because it is tied to your health, not to a specific mask. But the fit test is tied to the specific make, model, and size of the respirator. Different brand means a new fit test.
What happens if I fail?
Do not panic. Not every face fits every N95 model on the first try. We will try different sizes and models to find one that seals properly for you. If a tight-fitting respirator cannot achieve a passing fit, your employer may provide a PAPR — a Powered Air Purifying Respirator — as an alternative. Failing a fit test does not mean you cannot work.
How often do I need to be fit tested?
Every year. And sooner if you have had significant weight change, facial surgery, major dental work, or if your facility switches to a different N95 brand.
I wear glasses — will that be a problem?
Bring them to the appointment. We will test for compatibility. Most N95 masks work fine with standard frames.
What is the difference between the OSHA medical evaluation and the fit test?
The medical evaluation is completed first — it is a health questionnaire that confirms you are medically cleared to wear a respirator. Once you are cleared, we do the fit test, which confirms that the specific N95 model you will be using creates a proper seal on your face. Both are required by OSHA and both are included in your $95 appointment with us.
Do nursing students need both the medical evaluation and the fit test?
Yes. OSHA requires both before anyone wears a tight-fitting respirator — students included. We take care of both in one 10-minute appointment.
Can I walk in or do I need to schedule?
We are walk-in friendly, but we do ask that you schedule online or call ahead at 856-375-0866 so we can make sure we have your appointment slot ready. Same-day and next-day appointments are often available.
How long does it take?
About 10 minutes from start to finish, including the OSHA medical evaluation.
