Most Frequently Asked Questions

Is BLS for healthcare workers?

Yes! BLS (Basic Life Support) was formerly called BLS Healthcare Provider, but the American Heart Association updated the name a few years ago. BLS is the required CPR class for healthcare professionals. You’ll complete the course in about 3 hours.

Will I learn CPR for infants, children, and adults in BLS?

Yes! BLS covers CPR and AED training for all ages — infants, children, and adults. It’s designed for anyone working in healthcare settings like hospitals, medical and dental offices, and clinics.

How is the First Aid CPR AED class different?

The First Aid CPR AED course goes beyond CPR. You’ll learn how to respond to heart attacks, strokes, allergic reactions, bleeding injuries, and more.

  • Includes CPR/AED for infants, children, and adults

  • Perfect for caregivers, teachers, and workplace requirements

  • Completed in one 4-hour session
After class, you’ll feel confident handling emergencies at home, work, or in the community.

I’ve taken BLS before — can I register for a renewal class?

We’ve simplified the process: all BLS classes are the same length. Whether it’s your first time or a renewal, your course is about 3 hours.

Do I have to get on my knees?

No! We practice skills on a table so you won’t strain your knees or feel uncomfortable.

When will I receive my certification card?

You’ll receive your official AHA digital certification card the same day you complete class. Cards are emailed directly to you.

Do I need to purchase a book?

We provide books for every student during class. You may also purchase a personal manual if you’d like to take one home.

I took an online CPR class, but my employer won’t accept it. Why?

Many hospitals, schools, and government agencies do not accept online-only CPR certifications. Most employers require an in-person American Heart Association certification.
That’s why all of our classes are in person and respected by local employers — you’ll have hands-on practice and leave fully prepared.

What if I’m nervous about taking a CPR class?

You’re not alone! We make every class fun, relaxed, and stress-free. Our instructors are experienced, approachable, and focused on helping you feel confident and comfortable while learning lifesaving skills.
