Do I Have to Take Part of My BLS Course Online?
No. Complete your entire BLS course in person — all at one time.
At Active Assist HCS, there is no online portion to complete before class and no separate skills appointment to schedule afterward.
You come to class, complete your instruction, practice your skills, complete your testing, and receive your AHA BLS Provider eCard immediately after successful completion of the course.
One Class. One Price. One Visit.
Why Choose In-Person Classroom BLS Training?
With in-person BLS training, you get hands-on practice with an instructor there to guide you.
You practice CPR on the manikins, learn how to give effective breaths, use the AED, and ask questions as they come up.
One of the biggest benefits is learning how to respond as a team.
You rotate through different roles during the resuscitation response—compressions, airway and breathing, AED use, and switching compressors—so you learn how to work with other healthcare providers during a real emergency.
You can ask questions, practice difficult skills, and get immediate feedback.
And for many students, completing everything in person is simply quicker, easier, and less expensive.
One appointment. Everything completed in class. Same-day BLS eCard after successful completion.
Some schools and healthcare programs also require or prefer in-person BLS training with hands-on skills practice.
““So hands-on. It was really informative and put us in groups to act out a code situation, which I loved. Definitely the best CPR class I’ve been to!””
We Practice Team-Based Emergency Scenarios
During class, students don't only practice CPR individually.
We also bring the group together for team-based resuscitation scenarios, allowing students to experience what it is like to respond to an emergency with other healthcare providers.
Students may rotate through roles such as:
Compressor • Ventilator • AED Operator • Team Member • Replacement Compressor
The scenario can change depending on the students in the class and the types of healthcare environments they are preparing to enter.
A nursing student may encounter a different situation than a dental professional.
An EMT may have different questions than a medical assistant.
A respiratory therapist may approach ventilation from a different perspective.
We can adjust the scenario to the needs of the class.
That is one of the biggest advantages of learning CPR in a classroom with an instructor.
You aren't simply learning CPR.
You are learning how to respond during a real healthcare emergency.
Ask Questions and Learn How to Adjust
Many students are nervous about what to do when a real emergency does not go exactly the way it looks in the video or book.
In class, you can ask questions as they come up and get answers right away.
If the patient vomits, the mask seal is difficult, another rescuer arrives, or the situation changes, we can explain how to adjust your response and practice it with you.
That is one of the biggest benefits of learning BLS with an instructor.
Our instructors are friendly, patient, and happy to slow down, explain a skill again, or answer questions until you feel comfortable.
